The Island of Hvar is rich in history, architecture, culture and has the gastronomy to match. Whether you’re looking for lavender fields, olive orchards, vineyards or just some vitamin sea, there is a lot to do and see on  island of Hvar. The two most popular cities, Stari Grad and Town of Hvar both have a lot to offer, however on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of holiday styles.

For my birthday, my other half and husband to-be whisked me away to Sibenik and took me to the restaurant I spent most of 2017 trying to get a table at, Pelegrini. I’m not the biggest fan of Sibenik, as beautiful as it may be, it’s always windy up at the fortress and it drives me crazy. Plus, there's a lot of stairs in the Old Town, me-no-like. One part of Sibenik has been on my radar for the past 12 months and it’s dining at Pelegrini.

Bruschetta in Zadar is ranked #6 out of 185 restaurants in Zadar on TripAdvisor and is a must visit for gastro-enthusiasts. All produce is local and there are over 20 wines to choose from and match perfectly with your meal. I was even more impressed by the staff who were pleasant to interact with, they even recognised us when we visited the next day for lunch. Yes, we went again the following day.

Sydney has The Grounds of Alexandria, London has Sketch and The Ivy in Chelsea, Zagreb has Caffe Bar Finjak. What I mean by using the word “has” as the operative word for each of these cities, are photogenic cafes that are deemed instagrammable and frequented by the well-heeled. Basically the go-to for fashionistas, social media stars and those ‘in the know‘ of where to go,  be seen and photographed.
